Info:
- The song, written and sung by Richard Wright, was recorded during The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, and reportedly received overdubs in October of that year. The original title was Sunshine.
- However, The Pink Floyd Encyclopedia suggests that the song was remade entirely that month. Drummer Nick Mason was reportedly confused on what to do for this song, though not producer Norman Smith, who ended up filling in for him.
- Syd Barrett appears on this track, playing acoustic guitar. Rather like Wright's other solo composition for the album, See-Saw, the lyrics and the atmosphere created by the music, evoke idyllic, innocent childhood, and make for a pleasing contrast with the dark ruminations of most of the other material on the album.
- In December 2003, The Chipmunks covered this song and released their rendition as the lead-off single to the soundtrack album to their 2004 movie Little Alvin and the Mini-Munks.
