Alternative versions and live performances[]
David Gilmour single[]
Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour, who had not been a part of the band during the creation of the original "Arnold Layne" single, played the song through his tour of his 2006 solo album On an Island. On May 29, he performed the song with English musician David Bowie at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The next night, he performed the song again with Pink Floyd keyboardist Richard Wright. Both versions were released as a double single on December 26, 2006, and the version with Bowie would feature on Gilmour's 2007 live album Remember That Night.
